Promo Items

I was just thinking the other day as I sat doing my marketing homework that the best way to gain a customer is to offer promotional items. Let me explain my train of thought. I remember when I was a teenager Edge sent me some of their shaving gel through the mail, just a small sample, but I loved it. I have bought Edge shaving gel ever since then, no matter if the price is a bit higher than the other brands. If you let a consumer try your product before they buy it and they love it they will stay loyal, or at the very least I will.

I tried to think of all of the samples that I have ever gotten through the mail. I got one from Hugo Boss cologne and I wear that cologne now. I have gotten quite a few different items and most of them I still use to this day. It may cost a lot up front to send out samples, but it will be worth it when you have a loyal customer for many years. People are skeptical to try something and pay full price for it, and if you give them a sample it alleviates this worry.

If you are trying to market something give the potential consumers a taste of what you can do. It will help you in the long run! Whether it is a free trial for your software or a little bit of a product they will try it and then if it is good for them they will buy it!

Scion Advertising

I keep seeing this commercial for these cars made by Scion that look really neat. The funny thing is on the bottom there is a disclaimer that says all of these cool cars are probably not street legal, and these cars have parts that are not made by Scion which would void your warranty. I just think that they should not advertise cars like these if they are not sold like this, and if you make them look like the ones in the commercial your warranty will be voided and your car could possibly be illegal for the street!
